Daphne Du Maurier - 'A Border-Line Case (1971)' - *** Unengaging plot. Fantastic twist.
William Faulkner - 'As I Lay Dying (1930)' - ***** Great characters, lent strong individual voices by the stream of consciousness.
Duncan McGeary - 'Snowcastles (1983)' - * Awfully written. Flat characters and character interactions.
Arthur Conan Doyle - 'The Ring of Thoth (1968)' - **** At times predictable, but a mostly entertaining mix of action and suspense.
Richard Matheson - 'Hell House (1971)' - ** Not in the same league as 'I Am Legend'. Well fleshed characters, but marred by a clunky plot and bad writing.
